Max Linder Panorama is a single-screen cinema on Boulevard Poissonnière, on the Grands Boulevards in the 9th arrondissement. Behind a fairly discreet frontage is one large room finished in black, with velvet seats and a screen of 107 square metres. The seating is spread over three levels: the orchestra on the ground floor, the mezzanine on the first floor and the balcony on the second, each giving a different view of the same film.
The cinema's own history notes that it reopened in 1987, and that directors including Francis Ford Coppola, David Lynch and James Gray have presented films there. Its programme pairs current releases with avant-premières, themed cycles and festival screenings, and 3D is among its options. The cinema's history page describes the room and its three levels.
The cycles also include French and other non-English films, which belong to the cinema's own programme. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
