Zootopia 2
Get ready to head back to the bustling animal metropolis of Zootopia, because Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are back in action in Zootopia 2! This animated buddy cop comedy from Walt Disney Animation Studios picks up after the events of the first film, with our favorite bunny-fox duo facing a brand-new challenge—and maybe even a few personal ones.
This time around, Judy and Nick are still riding high from solving Zootopia’s biggest case, but their partnership hits a few bumps when Chief Bogo sends them to a counseling program called Partners in Crisis. Things get even more complicated when a mysterious and venomous new resident, Gary De'Snake, slithers into town. As the city’s balance is thrown off, Judy and Nick must go undercover and dive into unfamiliar parts of Zootopia to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Fans of the original Zootopia will be happy to know that the core cast is back—Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy, Jason Bateman as Nick, Idris Elba as Chief Bogo, and Shakira as Gazelle (who’s even got a new song called “Zoo” written with Ed Sheeran). The sequel also introduces a bunch of new characters voiced by a star-studded lineup including Ke Huy Quan as Gary De'Snake, Fortune Feimster, Andy Samberg, Quinta Brunson, and more. Expect some fresh faces like a beaver named Nibbles, a goat cop named Chevron, and a grizzly bear officer named Marlon Grizzby.
Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, with music by returning composer Michael Giacchino, Zootopia 2 promises the same mix of humor, heart, and social commentary that made the first film a hit. The animation is expected to be top-notch, and with a new mystery to unravel and a dynamic cast of characters, there’s plenty to look forward to.
If you loved the original for its clever world-building, witty dialogue, and strong character dynamics, this sequel is definitely for you. On the other hand, if talking animals and animated detective stories aren’t your thing, this might not be your cup of tea.
Zootopia 2 looks like it’s shaping up to be a fun, fast-paced adventure with a lot of heart—and maybe a few surprises along the way. Whether you're a longtime fan or just looking for a good animated flick, this one’s worth keeping an eye on.
