After a brutal plane crash, Special Forces officer James Belmont and his combat dog Odin are stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness with nothing but their bond keeping them alive. David Ayer keeps it tight and physical, a straight fight against the elements with no filler. It plays in English, and that wilderness hits hardest on a big screen, with 7.5 on IMDb behind it.

Cab driver Max picks up a stranger offering easy money for a night of driving, then realizes his fare is an assassin. Michael Mann turns the city after dark into a pressure cooker, with Tom Cruise cold and precise and Jamie Foxx trapped behind the wheel, and the tension keeps ratcheting toward a hard finish. This returning classic plays in English and looks razor-sharp on a big screen, carrying 7.5 on IMDb and 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. Screenings are limited this week, so plan ahead.
