Nouvel Odéon is a cinema at 6 rue de l'École-de-Médecine, in the Latin Quarter of the 6th arrondissement. Haut & Court, an independent company that produces, distributes and screens films, bought it in 2009 and renovated the space with support from the City of Paris, the CNC and the Île-de-France region. Haut & Court describes its aim as bringing contemporary French and foreign cinema to audiences, and the programme here adds ciné-clubs, special screenings, festival programmes and school screenings to regular releases. The cinema marks original-version sessions VOST; that label does not by itself mean English audio. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
Nouvel Odéon says it is step-free from the street, with a platform lift up to the bar area. Its about page has more on the building.
The cinema's access page lists the Odéon and Cluny La Sorbonne metro stations, on lines 4 and 10, and buses 21, 27, 38, 58, 63, 70, 86, 87 and 96. It names Vélib' stations at 5 rue Sarrazin, 11 rue Danton and 5 rue de la Sorbonne, and the École de Médecine car park at 21 rue de l'École-de-Médecine, about 80 metres from the cinema, which also has room for bicycles, motorbikes and scooters.
